Aortic pulmonary window: normal and abnormal CT features

Description
After a brief description of the normal anatomy of the aortic-pulmonary window (APW), 75 cases with APW abnormality are studied. The most frequent abnormalities of the walls of the APW are aortic and pulmonary aneurysms and aortic dissections which are well demonstrated by CT. The most frequent content abnormalities of the APW are large lymph nodes and lung carcinomas. Many other abnormalities of the APW have been described. CT provides a good study of the APW and facilitates the diagnosis of filling of the APW on chest X-rays
Abstract (French)
Apres un rappel de l'anatomie normale de la fenetre aorto-pulmonaire (FAP), 75 observations avec une pathologie de la FAP ont ete etudiees par un examen tomodensitometrique (TDM). Les anomalies des parois de la FAP les plus frequentes sont les anevrysmes de l'aorte et de l'artere pulmonaire et les dissections aortiques qui sont bien analyses par la TDM. Les anomalies du contenu de la FAP sont dominees par les adenopathies et les cancers bronchiques. De nombreuses autres causes sont rapportees. La TDM permet une bonne etude de la FAP et facilite le diagnostic de la cause d'un comblement de la FAP sur les cliches standardsAdditional details
