Electron gun with induction-heated emitter

Description
An electron gun with an induction-heated emitter (lanthanum boride cathode) is described. The heating element is a multiturn cylindrical inductor wound on a high-voltage cermet insulator, which forms the vacuum chamber of the diode. The characteristics of the gun with induction-heated emitter where studied under stationary conditions with an accelerating potential of up to 3 kV
