The difference between JENDL 3.1 and JENDL 3.2 for the calculation of effective multiplication factor

Description

The KUCA C-Core was analyzed by using the SRAC 95 system, which has been widely used as the general purpose neutronics code system. Since KUCA C-Core has been used for graduate school experiments of the university associations for over 20 years, there are many data for the multiplication factor of various configurations on KUCA C-Core. The cross-section libraries of JENDL 3.1 and JENDL 3.2 were evaluated for the calculation of the multiplication factors on the KUCA C-Core. The multiplication factors from JENDL 3.2 were systemically larger than those from JENDL 3.1. As the calculation was conducted with the critical dimension of each assembly, it was clear that both calculated results overestimated by 1-3% than the experimental data. From the ratios it was found that there existed about 1% differences between the multiplication factors of JENDL 3.1 and JENDL 3.2. (M.N.)
