X-ray radiometric logging

  • 1. Vsesoyuznyj Inst. Nauchnoj i Tekhnicheskoj Informatsii, Moscow (USSR)

Description

The results of theoretical, instrumental, and procedural developments in the field of roentgenoradiometric logging (RRL) are generalized. The modifications of RRL in the broad- and collimated-beam geometry are considered, and the peculiarities of the secondary spectra are investigated. The techniques for the realization of the method, which improve its noise stability in real borehole conditions, are substantiated. The commercial RRL equipment is described, the main operating techniques and methods for processing and interpretation of logs are presented, and the requirements for the accuracy and authenticity of logging results are listed. The efficiency of RRL is illustrated by examples of its application in deposits of tin, tungsten, polymetals, copper and other ores
