Description
Alkaline radioactive intermediate level liquid waste generated during nuclear fuel reprocessing contains high salt content. Studies have been carried out for development of process for treatment of this type of waste, using indigenously developed and prepared resorcinol formaldehyde (RF) resin. In this process U and Pu are first removed by chemical precipitation. The supernatant containing 90Sr, 106Ru, 137Cs etc. is passed through RF resin column. The feed and effluents were analysed. The column study indicated the usefulness of the resin for 300 bed volume. (author). 1 ref., 4 tabs
