Irradiation of the oral cavity by using an electron cone

Description

A metodolology of irradiation by using an electron cone, 3.5cm inner diameter, and a holder to connect the cone with the machine, without the additional collimators of the linear accelerator 'Sagittaire', was presented. The details of the cone as well as the physical characteristics of the electron beam were described. The clinical application in some small lesions of the oral cavity was emphasized. (M.A.C)

Abstract (Portuguese)

Apresenta-se um metodo de irradiacao com eletrons atraves de um cone, com 3,5cm de diametro, e um sistema de fixacao que substitui os colimadores adicionais do acelerador linear Sagittaire. Descrevem-se os detalhes deste cone, assim como as caracteristicas fisicas do feixe de eletrons, enfatizando-se sua aplicacao clinica em pequenas lesoes da cavidade oral. (M.A.C)
