Neoclassical plasma energy balance in stellarators
Description
Comparison of currently existing experimental results, concerning plasma energy balance in different stellarators, with calculations within the framework of neoclassical theory is conducted. Regimes with current-free plasma electron-cyclotron heating are considered. A good agreement of calculations with the experiment is demonstrated. Evaluations of electron thermal diffusivity coefficient in different existing and designed stellarators in the regimes with a high level power input into a plasma, are made. Effect of the presence of an insufficient number of epithermal particles on the heat transfer is also shown
