Future B physics prospects at hadron colliders

Creators

Description

Several new experiments with a B physics programme are planned to come into operation at hadron colliders in 2006 or later, after the current e+e- B factories have run for several years. These experiments will take advantage of the very large bb-bar production cross-section in high-energy hadron collisions to push further the study of CP violation and of rare decays in the B sector, by improving on results obtained at B factories and performing new measurements with Bs0 decays. After a motivation for pursuing a B physics programme at hadron colliders, these future detectors will be described with emphasis on the most important features for the detection of b-hadron decays, and several examples of the expected physics output will be given
