Description

This soil survey was conducted as a special use survey expressly for the purpose of obtaining baseline soils information to be used in environmental documents concerning the impacts of the proposed nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada. The Yucca Mountain Study Area (approximately 4500 acres) is located on the west side of the Nevada Nuclear Test Site, and the southeast corner of Nellis Air Force Range about 32 miles northwest of Mercury, Nevada. 4 refs., 2 figs., 3 tabs
