Description
The wide-range magnetic analyzer is applied to measure the ionization of the recoil atoms of V, Sc, Co, Ga, Dy, Pb and Po isotopes produced in nuclear reactions with oxygen, neon, and argon ions. The analysis of the resulting charge distributions has shown that the ionization of the recoil atoms in the A approximately 40-70 mass range is consistent with calculations. The contribution given by additional ionization of the recoil atoms is due to the internal conversion of nuclear transitions followed by emission of Auger electrons and increases with in-- crease of the mass number and excitation energy of the outgoing nuclei. For heavy nuclei, up to 90% of all knocked out atoms undergo additional ionizaiton
