Vector boson self-interactions and vector boson production within the BESS-model

  • 1. Bielefeld Univ. (Germany). Fakultaet fuer Physik

Description

Among the models which are presently considered as realistic alternatives to the Standard Model of electroweak interactions, the so-called BESS-model constitutes the most radical version, because while most alternatives remain within the framework of Higgs - realized spontaneous symmetry breaking and differ from the Standard Model only either by the underlying gauge group or by the scalar representations, the BESS model is characterized by a different mechanism of vector boson generation and, consequently, can manage without physical scalars at all, by realizing the spontaneous symmetry breaking in a nonlinear way. The specific features of the BESS model (as compared to the Standard Model) should show up in e+e- vector boson production at radicalS 500GeV if the design luminosity is reached
