Closed nuclear fuel cycle: protectability of nuclear materials

Description
Nuclear power engineering of XXI century will base on the closed fuel cycle with chemical reprocessing of irradiated fuel and secondary fissionable materials generation. This will require a new approach to protectability of fissionable materials. The elements of nuclear materials safety from nuclear weapons proliferation are considered. The ways of nuclear fuel cycle closing and peculiarities of of closed symbiosis (233U+232Th+238U)-fuel cycle with the use of DUPIC-technology are discussed

Ядерная энергетика XXI века будет базироваться на замкнутом топливном цикле с химической переработкой облученного топлива и наработкой вторичных делящихся материалов. Это потребует изменить подход к защищенности делящихся материалов. Рассмотрены элементы защиты ядерных материалов от распространения ядерного оружия. Обсуждаются пути закрытия топливного цикла и особенности замкнутого симбиозного (233U+232Th+238U)-топливного цикла с использованием DUPIC-технологииAdditional details
