Technique for stabilization of amplification of photoelectron multipliers (PM) with floatable dinodes having the limiting permissible value of medium anode current of 2-20 mA is suggested. Stabilization of PM amplification coeffficient is assured by increasing intensity of photocathode illuminating so that the value of medium anode current is held within the range Isub(cr)<=Isub(a)<=Isub(max), where Isub(a) is mediUm anode current, Isub(max) is top permissible medium anode current for the given PM type, Isub(cr) is the value of medium anode current chosen from the condition (K(Isub(cr)+ΔI)-K(Isub(cr)/K(Isub(cr))ΔI)<=10sup(-3) asup(-1), where K(Isub(cr)+ΔI) and K(Isub(cr)) are coefficients of PM amplification at the value of medium anode current Isub(cr)+ΔI and Isub(cr) respectively, and ΔI is an increment in the value of medium anode current. Increase of accuracy of measurement takes place at illuminating from a pulsed source at the frequency of 100-1000 Hz and porosity of 50-500 with measuring during period of time between pulsed illuminatings
