Scaling features in hard reactions and correlating quark rearrangement model
Description
A unified understanding of scaling which is observed in the hard lepton-quark as well as in the hard quark-quark interactions is given from the viewpoint of correlating quark rearrangement model. The structure functions in deep inelastic lepton-hadron reactions and the cross section for large p sub( t) jet productions are commonly expressed as the products of the factors subjected to the spectator quarks and those to the hard-rearrangement quarks. The spectator factor has an approximate scaling feature. The hard-rearrangement factor in lepton-quark interaction shows the Bjorken scaling, while in quark-quark interaction the factor exhibits another scaling behavior with an inverse power dependence on energy. As to the Bjorken scaling it is predicted that the negative violation at s <= 100 GeV2 and x >= 0.3 coming from the effect of finite hadron masses is followed by the positive violation above s -- 150 GeV2.
