On the application of position detection system by inductive radio for nuclear facilities

  • 1. Furukawa Electric Co. Ltd., Tokyo (Japan)

Description

An inductive radio system has been in use not only for transmission of information and control data to moving machines such as cranes, but also for absolute position detection of moving machine, utilizing the specific future of inductive radio of Address Cable. And in nuclear facilities, surveillance system of spent fuel assemblies which adopts inductive radio position detector as pool crane position sensor has been developed. This report outlines the principle and features of the IR position detection, and refers to outline of the serveillance system. (author)
