Improvement in quality of hot-rolled thin band

A method was considered for rolling thin bands of St-3kp steel in a manner to raise the finishing temperature and the velocity of rolling using workpieces with stepwise increase in the thickness of the leading edge at the entry to all the stands of the continuous group. Calculated data on the effect of the steady-state reduction conditions upon the finishing temperature of rolling were given. Criteria and limitations of an optimum distribution of reductions was formulated
