Magneto-acoustic rapefaction solitons and the generation of high-frequency oscillations in dynamic development of Z-pinch

Description

In the framework of the one-dimensional plane model the attempt was made to explaine the development of high frequency oscillations while investigating Z-pinch. It is shown that if magnetic viscosity is taken into account, solutions of the rarefaction soliton type are possible even within the framework of single-liquid magnetohydrodynamics. If allowance is made for electron inertia, high frequency oscillations should develop up to the level E/B0 approximately (msub(e)/msub(i))sup(1/2) (E is the amplitude of oscillations, B0 is magnetic field), as is apparently observed in Z-pinch experiments
