Description
The intensities of the electric quadrupole transitions in the X-ray spectra of the transition 3d-metal monoxide diatomic molecules have been calculated using the discrete-variational local density approximation method. The quadrupole transition intensities have been found to be negligible for the left-hand-side 3d-metal oxides. It is shown that the electric quadrupole transitions can appreciably contribute to the MKβ5-emission spectra of the right-hand-side 3d-metal oxides along with the dipole transitions. (orig.)
