Description

The methodology used by WANO to develop fuel reliability indicators for defective fuel has been examined in terms of fundamental fission product release theory with a scaling to reference values of the linear heat rating and coolant purification flow for CANDU operation. The new fuel reliably indicator has been applied to several known defect occurrences in CANDU reactors where the number of failures are known. (author)
