Description
Humic substances are naturally occurring organic compounds of high molecular weight. They are capable of interacting with metals by complexation or redox process. Therefore the behavior of trace elements, especially anthropogenic radionuclides, in soils or sediments is greatly influenced by humic substances. We have studied complexation of plutonium by Aldrich humic acid in solution at different values of ionic strength. (orig.)
