Lithium-activated charge exchange spectroscopy for Tokamak edge plasma diagnostics
Description
Work on a new method for investigation of transport phenomena in the edge region of Tokamak plasmas is described. The method is based on electron capture into strongly excited radiating levels in the collisions between fast Li ions injected into the plasma, and the hydrogen and impurity ions in the plasma edge layer, and is called Lithium-activated Charge Exchange Spectroscopy. It is very useful for selective and sensitive detection of any impurity species in the plasma edge, and for determination of both, their temperature and drift velocities. (There is also a one-page short version in English). 12 refs., 8 figs. (qui)
