The superfluid state of matter
Description
The gradual evolution in the understanding of superfluidity over the past 40-50 years is considered. Highlights of this continuing research are reviewed and the present position concerning the essential features of the superfluid state is summarised. Topics considered are; Bose condensation, superfluid 4He, superfluid order parameters, quantisation of circulation, superconductors, Josephson tunnelling and superfluid 3He, and the superfluid phase transition.
