A note on the validity of the eikonal approximation

Description
It has been suggested that for large incident wavenumbers and small scattering angles the eikonal approximation remains excellent for strong-coupling situations. We show that this conclusion has limitations, and the validity of the eikonal approximation depends on the sharpness of the edge of the potentials. (author)
