Alteration in reactor installations (criticality experimental facility and research reactor) in the Research Reactor Institute, Kyoto University (report)
Description
A report by the Nuclear Safety Commission to Prime Minister, concerning the alterations in the criticality experimental facility and the research reactor in the Research Reactor Institute, Kyoto University, was presented: the technical capability of RRI and the safety after the alteration were confirmed. The alteration is as follows. In the criticality experimental facility, a core composed of highly and intermediately enriched uranium is additionally loaded in the existing core. In the research reactor, the description on the reactivity control ability is changed. The examination made by the Committee on Examination of Reactor Safety, which confirmed the safety, is described as follows: structural design, nuclear design and accident analysis for the criticality experimental facility, and the description on the reactivity control ability for the research reactor.
