Description

Reduction of NpO22+ and PuO22+ ions by (CH3)2COH radicals and protonated electron adducts of 2,2'-bipyridine and o-phenanthroline in argon saturated aqueous solutions with pH 1 has been studied by the method of microsecond pulse radiolysis. Reaction rate constants for the radicals ((1.5-1.8)x1010 l mol-1 s-1) in all probability are controlled by diffusion. For reactions involving electron adducts the rate constants are approximately an order lower. 12 refs., 2 figs., 1 tab
