Environmental analytical study of coal energetic region of Candiota, Bage, (RS, Brazil)
Description
Sampling from Presidente Medici Thermoelectric Plant in Candiota, Bage (RS) was carried out for coal, heavy ash, light ash, several sources of water and other kinds of environmental materials. After proper preparation of the samples, analysis was performed using the following methods: Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (AES), UV -Visible Spectrophotometry, Ion-Selective Electrode Potentiometry, Volumetry and Gravimetry. Approximately 25 analytical parameters were determined, with results being submitted to a computer-based statistical analysis. Some measures that could minimize the pollution of the region were herein pointed out. (author)
