Asymptotic ionization losses for ultrarelativistic hadrons

Description
The total average ionization losses for ultrarelativistic mesons and baryons in various types of condensed matter are calculated. A parametrization is given for the asymptotic losses in the plateau region (particle Lorentz factors γ much-gt 103). These losses are analyzed as a function of the characteristics of the hadrons and the characteristics of the condensed matter. 20 refs., 2 figs., 3 tabs
