Description

This study characterized Ti3SiC2/Al–Si composites with different concentrations of Si that were fabricated by spark plasma sintering. The phase composition and structure of the composites were analyzed by x-ray diffractometry and scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive spectroscopy. The results showed that Ti3SiC2 did not react with the matrix alloy at low temperatures, obtaining composites with excellent properties. The mechanical and tribological properties of the Ti3SiC2/Al–Si composites (paper)
