Effect of composition inhomogeneity on the cathodoluminescence of Y2SiO5 crystals doped with Tb and Ce
- 1. AN SSSR, Leningrad (Russian Federation). Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.
Description
The paper studies the effect of composition on Y2Si spectral properties. Cerium content affects, mainly, optical homogeneity of crystals. At cerium concentration over 0.1 wight % threadlike inclusions of the same composition but with increased content of an activator are formed. Cathodoluminescent properties of crystals are studied. Cerium concentration is determined to affect the intensity of terbium blue stripe. The proportion of stripes in a spectrum depends on current of exciting electron. Interpretation of the obtained results in presented. 10 refs.; 4 figs.; 1 tab
