Problems and prospects of investigation of electron conductivity of ionic crystals
Description
Optimum concentration of non-equilibrium carriers, the value of applied electric field and excitation conditions during measurements of the electron conductivity of the objects are estimated on the basis of generalization and systematization of the data on the main electron parameters in ion crystals. The features, limitations and some technial problems of experimental study of electron conductivity of ion crystals are described. It is shown that the measurement of conductivity induced by short X-ray low-density pulses is the most effective method to determine the parameters of carriers in the case of superwide-gap crystals (Eg≥10 eV) most important as regards their application
