Vibrational spectra of polyhedral closodecaborate anions B10X102-(X=H,D,Cl,Br,I)

Description

Vibrational spectra of the salts M2B10X10(X=H, Cl, Br, F; M=K, Cs) in solid state and in aqueous solutions and of the acid (D3O)2B10D10 in the D2O solution are obtained and analysed. The B10X102- polyhedron frequencies assignment basing on the activity of vibrations in the IR and Raman spectra, frequencies shifts in the course of isotope substitution, values of Raman spectra lines depolarization degrees and comparison with B12X122- icosahedral anion spectra is proposed. Frequencies of the respective fundamental vibrations of B10X102- and B12X122- polyhedrons points to their force fields proximity
