Determination of neutron fluence for lifetime assessment of RPV's Kozloduy NPP

  • 1. Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia, (Bulgaria)

Description

The evaluation of the fast neutron fluence is needed to analyze the current state and predict the safe lifetime of WWER reactor pressure vessel (RPV). Since the non-destructive method for evaluation of the RPV metal embrittlement critical temperature is based on an assessment of the fast neutron fluence onto RPV, the basic safety requirement of NPP operation is to perform reliable monitoring of irradiation conditions on RPV. The neutron fluence determination methods and approaches applied for Kozloduy NPP reactors of type WWER-1000 and WWER-440 are presented. (author)
