Change for radiation yield as a function of surface-to-volume ratio of dosimetric containers

  • 1. Univ. Nacional del Sur, Bahia Blanca (Argentina). Lab. de Radioisotopos

Description

Liquid chemical dosimetry systems show inhomogeneity of dose at the glass-solution interface, causing an increase in the chemical yield of the dosimeter. This increase proved to be proportional to the surface-to-volume ratio by a constant value K, which depends only on the nature of the dosimeter, showing independence of the energy and nature of radiation and shape of the dosimetric container.
