Process and equipment development for fast reactor fuel reprocessing

  • 1. Reprocessing Group, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam (India)

Description

Nuclear fuel reprocessing is complex technology requiring many interdisciplinary approaches considering the safety aspects and radiation field in the plants. The success of fast breeder reactor technology depends on the successful closing of the fuel cycle. R and D activities for FBR fuel reprocessing involve development and interfacing of many complex technologies. In this contribution, an introduction to R and D activities related to process and equipment development for special needs of Reprocessing Group will be presented. (author)
