The defect-irradiation experiment IFA-627

Description

An irradiation experiment with pre-irradiated intentionally defected rodlets was performed in the Halden Reactor on a bilateral basis between Siemens and IFE Halden. The experiment should demonstrate the superior defect behaviour of Fe-enhanced zirconium liner cladding compared to sponge zirconium liner cladding. Irradiation of the rodlets in a Halden loop started on Febr.09,97 and was finished on May 16,97. Experimental details are being presented in this paper. None of the rodlets showed indications of severe secondary degradation. (author)
