Energy and the environment
Description
Collection of the papers presented to the seminar on 'Energy and the Environment', held by the Oeko-Institut in April 1984. The four sessions of the meeting are devoted to the following subjects: Economics of energy systems; energy supply concepts; energy systems and their effects on the environment; safety of nuclear facilities. The variety and the manifold aspects of the ongoing discussions on the energy situation are discussed and results of studies carried out by the Oeko Institut are explained. Current activities of the institute and the goals pursued are outlined: Development of a 'soft' energy scenario for the Federal Republic of Germany. - Economics and environmental impacts of energy systems. - Development of concepts for municipal energy supply systems. - Engineered reactor safety and reprocessing of nuclear spent fuels. - Proposals concerning the definition of basic conditions in the energy sector. Es handelt sich um die Wiedergabe der Referate, die auf der Arbeitstagung 'Energie und Umwelt' des Oeko-Instituts im April 1984 gehalten wurden. Die vier Arbeitsgruppen befassten sich mit den Themen: Wirtschaftlichkeit von Energiesystemen; Energiekonzepte; Umweltauswirkungen von Energiesystemen; Sicherheit kerntechnischer Anlagen. Die Vielfaeltigkeit und Vielschichtigkeit der gegenwaertigen Energiedikussion wird aufgezeigt, Ergebnisse von Arbeiten des Oeko-Instituts werden vorgestellt und die derzeitige Arbeitsthematik umrissen: Entwicklung eines sanften Energieszenarios fuer die Bundesrepublik. - Wirtschaftlichkeit und Umweltauswirkungen von Energiesystemen. - Entwicklung kommunaler Versorgungskonzepte. - Fragen der Reaktorsicherheit und der Wiederaufarbeitung. - Gestaltungsvorschlaege fuer rechtliche Rahmenbedingungen der Energiewirtschaft.
