Predictive mapping of potential radon concentrations using uranium airborne spectral radiometry and data from the 1/250000 geologic map of the Pays de la Loire area basement
Description
The aim of this survey is to identify the towns with a basement susceptible to induce significant radon concentrations in buildings. In order to identify these areas, a combined analysis of lithology maps and airborne spectral radiometric data has been carried out. Different types of formations with strong (4.5 to 6.29 ppm), medium (3.5 to 4.5 ppm) and low (3 to 3.5 ppm) radon anomalies have been identified and correspond to igneous (granites), metamorphic (gneisses, micaschists, quartzites) and sedimentary or meta-sedimentary formations.
