Technological prospecting for solutions to treat oil sludge contaminated with natural radionuclides

  • 1. Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, RJ (Brazil)

Description

In the activities of the oil industry, it is produced inlaws and oil sludges in the multiple stages of oil production. Petroleum sludge is a complex composition multifasic residue with oils and grease, toxic and harmful refractory substances, heavy metals, pathogenic microorganisms, natural radioactive elements, among other components that make treatment and proper disposal a challenge. Considering the high demand for production, the large volumes generated of oil sludges with the limitations of treatment technologies currently applied, the interest in alternative methods with the objective of treatment and/or better use of the energy value of this material is also growing. The present work is an analysis of patent documents, which will compose a future study of technological prospecting and aims at lifting all technical solutions applied to the treatment of Norm (natural occurrence radioactive material). With the present study, it will be possible to direct future research, development and innovation (P, D&I) actions in academic laboratories and/or companies
