Comparison of therapeutic effect of intra-arterial chemoradiotherapy and radiotherapy alone, bladder preservation therapy for invasive bladder cancer

We retrospectively evaluated complete remission rate, overall survival rate and progression free survival rate of the patients with invasive bladder cancer who had received intra-arterial chemoradiotherapy or radiotherapy alone. Against our expectations, there was no significant difference with the treatment results between both groups. The reason why IA-cases had no advantage might resulted on the difference in blood vessel selectivity of intraarterial injection or the potential differences between both groups because of retrospective analysis.
