Application of graphite furnace atomic absorption to the determination of impurities in uranium oxides without preliminary chemical separation

Description

Graphite furnace atomic absorption was tested for the determination of V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co and Mo present as impurities in uranium oxide samples without a preliminary separation. For V and Mo a quantitative determination was not possible, probably because the maximum available atomization temperature used was not high enough to decompose intermediate chemical compounds completely. The precision of the analysis and accuracy were quite satisfactory for the other elements
