Description
Thermal Hydraulics Installation of designed as a nuclear device that can be used on a variety of experimental activities to measure the flow rate of the cooling critical speed limit in the fuel elements which cause vibrations in the fuel plate. The installation consists of a fuel plenum plate test (test section), cooling water pumps, flow control valves, pipe installation, water storage tanks. Fuel plenum plate test is designed as a place to put a fuel plate testing will be observed vibrational. Testing simulations of mechanical strength using CATIA V5 R20 on the design of test fuel plenum plate bar material Acrylic and aluminum alloys. The test results get maximum mechanical stress that occurs at 6.19 x 105 N/m2 for acrylic and 6.56 x 105 N/m2 for the aluminum alloy. Yield strength acrylic is 5.5 x 107 N/m2 while the aluminum alloy is 9.5 x 107 N/m2. Referring to the results of the testing of the data and the data yield strength of each material, the mechanical stress that occurs in the design is still smaller than the yield strength. Results of testing the maximum translational displacement of 0.0119 mm on design with acrylic and design 0.000530 mm on aluminum alloys. The test results are relatively very small and do not result in a change in the form of fuel design plenum plate test. (author)
