Formation of high-coercive state in Fe+30% Cr+5% Co alloy

Description

Process of formation of magnetic properties and structure in a course of the Fe+30% Cr+5%Co alloy heat treatment is studied. It is shown that decomposition of the α-solid solution to α, and α2 phases begins at 590 deg C for the above alloy. Formation of magnetic properties and structure in the alloy occurs in two stages. In the initial stage the coercive force grows only slightly; undep the action of external magnetic field prolate α1-phase particles are formed and their volume part increases. In the second stage an essential growth and saturation of Hsub(c) is observed, but visible changes of α1-phase particles and their volume part do not take place in this case. Application of slow controlled cooling in the 600-500 deg C temperature range and simultaneous magnetic field action permits to obtain high magnetic properties for an alloy with a low cobalt content
