Neutrino reactions in 12C at large momentum transfer

Description

We obtain total and differential cross sections for the neutrino charged current reactions νμ+12C→12N+μ- and νe+12C→12N+e- from near threshold to q2 ≅ 20m2π. We make use of a new fit from electron scattering data for μ(q2). Particular emphasis is placed on calculations near the sharp minima. It is shown that the total cross sections in this region are not sensitive to the presence of the minima but that the differential cross sections provide an interesting test of strong CVC. Other transitions which might be useful to observe are also discussed
