Description
A brief description is presented of an atmospheric pressure ionography system designed for use in mammography, together with a preliminary clinical evaluation of two cases. Although the authors were quite pleased with these early images, produced under normal clinical conditions in a busy breast screening clinic, in general conventional screen/film images were superior to the ionograms, the major weakness being in the development process.
