7Be(n, 2α) reaction as object for studies on nuclear force breaking parity

Description

The lecture describes investigations of searching for the 7Be(n, 2α) reaction produced by thermal neutrons. The reaction can proceed with parity non-conservation if neutron capture produces the 2- state with the 2+ state mixed to it due to p-noninvariant forces. The 7Be(n, p)7Li to a 0.48 MeV level and 7Be(n,γ 2α) via a 16.63 MeV level of a 8Be nucleus reactions have been found experimentally
