Method of determining humidity
Creators
Description
The method is based on the indirect determination of the overall amount of liberated hydratation heat of concentrated sulfuric acid in reaction with water to be determined. The sulfuric acid contains 85Kr previously dissolved in it which is liberated by heating. Its radioactivity (or the reduction of H2SO4 radioactivity) is used in estimating the moisture of the material to be determined by means of a calibration curve. The method is more sensitive, accurate and suitable for trace amount determination than temperature measurement. (M.K.)
