Description
It is essential for monitoring around nuclear facilities to study the background level and accumulation trends of radionuclides in marine organisms. In this study we measured the levels of radionuclides and stable elements in tissues of four kinds squids, whose analytical data are less available than those of fishes. Results are following: (1) 60Co in Todarodes pacificus was detected only in livers and its level (0.04Bq/kg-wet) was similar to those previously reported on squid livers. (2) Level of 137Cs in T. pacificus was highest in testis (0.17Bq/kg-wet) but it was almost same with those reported on the soft parts of squids (0.06Bq/kg-wet). (3) Co content was highest in livers, where it was 12∼76 times higher than that in mantles. The order of Co contents in liver is Sepia esculenta>Todarodes pacificus>Sepioteuthis lessoniana>Photololigo edulis. (4) Sr content in ink-sac was highest among tissues in soft parts, where it was 9∼30 times higher than that in mantles. (author)
