Marine dispersion in the vicinity of Sizewell nuclear power station

Description

Measurements have been made of radiocaesium concentrations in sea water in the vicinity of Sizewell nuclear power station over the period 1977-81. These concentrations are due to discharges from the 'A' station superimposed upon a background due to discharges from the British Nuclear Fuels Limited Sellafield reprocessing plant together with fallout. Allowance for this background, measured at remote positions partially by means of research vessel cruises, enables the initial dispersion in the Sizewell vicinity to be deduced. (author)
