Status and prospect of steel-concrete composite members using high strength materials
Description
Composite structure using steel and concrete such as Steel Reinforced Concrete have been used from ago for the structure of reactor building. Recently new type of composite structures are going to be used to shorten the construction period. They are Concrete Filled Steel Tube and Steel Concrete Sandwich Structures. These days we can have high strength steel and concrete. The strength and ductility of high strength composite members and discussed. Though the concrete of Steel Reinforced Concrete members using high strength materials are easily fallen before the yielding of encased steel, Concrete Filled Steel Tube has enough ductility and does not cause premature failure.
