Will the amended German Radiation Protection Ordinance set up obstacles for the free movement of goods and services within the European Union?
Description
The author deplores the lack of harmonisation of the amended German Ordinance with some existing EU Directives, for instance on product safety and industrial safety. He expresses concern about negative impacts this non-harmonisation may have for the free movement of goods and services between EU Member States. (orig./CB)

Die neue StrlSchV hat Auswirkungen auf mehrere Rechtsgebiete wie Produktsicherheit und Arbeitsschutz, die z.T. bereits eine umfangreiche europaeische Ausgestaltung erfahren haben. Die Novelle der StrlSchV greift diese Entwicklungen nicht auf. Dadurch wird sie den freien Austausch von Waren und Dienstleistungen mehr behindern, als dies zur Erreichung von Sicherheit vor den Gefahren durch ionisierende Strahlen notwendig sein kann.
